A branch of Vijaya Film Institute headed by Kumareshwar ‘The Picture House’ is making a new attempt to support the short film makers of 10 to 20 minutes duration.

A short film competition would finally get a screening in one of the multiplex screens. The Picture House has invited application from short film makers. For 10 minutes duration they have to deposit Rs 10000, for 20 minutes it is 20000.

The short films selected would be screened in multiplex screens. In two hours duration at least six of twenty minutes short films would be accommodated.

Vijaya Film institute is also coming up with a feature film ‘Ondu Sullu Helthiya’ – Girish a student of institute has been selected for the lead role in the film.

Kumareshwar Managing director of four decades old film training institute says the branches have already come up in Gulbarga and Mysore. The new scheme of ‘The Picture House’ is to give a platform for small film makers to the big screen he says. He announced various other developments of Vijaya Film Institute at the media meet.
